THEN: I didn't.
NOW: I work at home, trying to find work. It doesn't pay.

THEN: Olympia, WA
NOW: Campbell, CA
5) How was your hairstyle?
THEN: I can't remember exactly when I cut my hair to shoulder length, but it was probably around this time.
NOW: Chin-length, self-cut asymmetric bob of sorts.

THEN: No.
NOW: No.
7) Did you wear contacts?
THEN: No.
NOW: No.
8) Did you wear glasses?
THEN: Yes.
NOW: Yes. Cuter ones.

THEN: Becky.
NOW: Not sure I have a single "best," but a few people I feel decently close to and can rely on for various things.
10) Which of your pets was still alive?
THEN: Some rabbits--quite possibly all of 'em: Tonsai, Taffy, Marigold, and Ebony.
NOW: New rabbits who live under my bed and hate me unless I am giving them food: Lilly and Ollie.
11) Who was your boyfriend/girlfriend?
THEN: Never had a boyfriend at that point. Well, maybe later that year.
NOW: Kevin, the weirdo techie vegan who lets me mooch off him while I'm unemployed. He is pretty awesome.

THEN: I thought celebrities were stupid.
NOW: I still think they're stupid, but I think a lot of people are kind of hot. For now let's say Joel McHale.

THEN: I can't remember if that was the time I had a crush on a guy named Tom. Or Brion. I have no idea.
NOW: I'm okay without crushes.
14) How many piercings did you have?
THEN: Two in each ear (the second fresh that year, if I recall).
NOW: Two in one ear and one in the other. One of the second piercings closed up.

THEN: None.

THEN: Getting over Smashing Pumpkins and moving on to Radiohead.

I'm not sure I ever had any idea how I wanted to answer that question. I probably expected I'd have a college degree and a job, so... one out of two isn't bad, and the job thing is temporary.
